Parish Records Workshop
Saturday 12 October
County Record Office
1.30pm – 3.00pm
This interactive workshop introduces the numerous types of parish records held in the Warwickshire County Record Office. Focusing on the centuries between Reformation and Enlightenment, when these originally ecclesiastical communities assumed local government duties (particularly relating to poor relief), participants will be given an initial overview by Beat Kümin (University of Warwick), followed by the opportunity to see specific books and accounts under the guidance of Sharon Forman (WCRO).
There will also be ample time to ask questions on subjects ranging from communal organisation via religious practices to record conservation.
