Writing Out Loud!
Local writers are once again being offered the chance to perform their work at an open mic evening in Warwick.Organised by Warwick Words Writers’ Group, ‘Writing Out Loud!’ features the group reading their poetry, short prose and scripts followed by an open mic session.
Group Convenor Carey Moon said, ‘Warwick Words Writers’ Group grew out of Warwick Words Festival. We meet regularly in the town and the Open Mic nights we’ve held so far have been very popular. Anyone who is interested in writing is welcome to come along and join in or just listen. There are a lot of talented writers in and around Warwick and the evening is an opportunity to read a piece of your own writing lasting about 3 to 4 minutes in front of an audience.’
The evening at The Warwick Arms Hotel in High Street, Warwick, takes place on Thursday 23 February and starts at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost £3.00 and will be available on the door.

Warwick Words Writers' Group, launched at Warwick Words – festival of literature and spoken word 2006.
Connected to the annual Festival, this dynamic and friendly group meet in Warwick once a month to share their work, discuss ideas and to develop their creative writing skills. The format of the monthly sessions is determined by the group itself, with the emphasis on creating an informal, yet supportive and productive network.
These MONTHLY meetings take place in various venues around Warwick, usually Northgate Hall, Barrack Street, 7.30 - 9.30pm on the second Tuesday, and cost £2.00 per person. Free refreshments are provided.
All meetings start at 7.30pm, and finish about 9.30pm. It’s up to you to shape this new group! It promises to be fun…
